Transforming a Garden: Timber Fence and Gate Replaced with Concrete Posts and Composite Boards

Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a project in Glanmire, where we helped a customer upgrade their garden's fence and gate. They were looking for a more robust and low-maintenance alternative that would stand the test of time.

The Challenge: Outdated Timber Fence and Gate

Our customer had a traditional timber fence and gate that had served them well for many years. However, over time, the timber had started to show signs of wear and tear from the elements. The fence was starting to lean, and the gate was becoming difficult to open and close smoothly. The customer wanted to replace the old timber with something more modern, durable, and easier to maintain—without sacrificing the aesthetic of their garden.

The Solution: Concrete Posts and Composite Boards

To meet our customer’s needs, we recommended replacing the old timber posts with sturdy concrete posts. Concrete posts are not only incredibly durable but also provide greater support and stability for the fence. This ensures that the new fence will stand strong through all weather conditions, particularly in Ireland’s unpredictable climate.

Next, we replaced the old timber boards with composite boards. Composite materials are a fantastic choice for fencing due to their long-lasting nature, resistance to rot, and minimal maintenance requirements. Made from a mix of wood fibers and plastic, composite boards offer the beautiful look of wood while being much more resilient and easier to clean. The composite boards are also resistant to fading, ensuring that the fence will maintain its attractive appearance for many years.

Replacing the Timber Gate with a Composite Gate

In addition to replacing the fence, the customer wanted a more durable and low-maintenance solution for their gate. We removed the old timber gate and replaced it with a composite gate to match the new fence. The composite gate is as sturdy as it is stylish, offering the same benefits as the composite fencing, including resistance to weathering, fading, and rotting. It’s the perfect complement to the new fence, enhancing the overall aesthetic while providing a high level of security and ease of use.
